UNOPS Global Innovation Centers to Utilize the Sustainable Preservation Initiative’s Renowned Business School and Capacity Building Program
Sustainable Preservation Initiative to provide entrepreneurial education at UNOPS Innovation centers
New York, NY January 31, 2018. The Sustainable Preservation Initiative (“SPI”) proudly announces its collaboration with the United Nations Office for Project Services (“UNOPS”) to utilize and disseminate SPI’s ‘Business School and Capacity Building Program’ in UNOPS’s Global Innovation Centers to be created around the world. The SPI Program will build and develop local community business skills and empower women entrepreneurs.
SPI’s Business School and Capacity Building Program provides economically disadvantaged communities with the tools to establish, build and sustain locally-owned and managed businesses. SPI has created a “mini business school” for poor communities lacking in formal education. The SPI business school provides the two things every successful entrepreneur needs to flourish: knowledge and resources. This renowned capacity building program has been utilized successfully around the world to train and empower local entrepreneurs, especially women, in essential business skills, enabling them to be independent and successful business owners.

SPI preserves archaeological sites by building futures and saving pasts. Many of humanity’s most important heritage sites co-exist with some of the world’s poorest people. SPI trains locals – mostly women – in essential business, design and marketing skills, and provides capacity building and funding for existing or start-up businesses related to local heritage.
