UNOPS Global Innovation Centers to Utilize SPI’s Business School and Capacity Building Program
After seeing the remarkable impact of SPI’s entrepreneur training program, we have developed a business school curriculum to make our powerful training program available to broader communities. The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) will be using the SPI-developed ‘mini business school” and capacity building program in their Global Innovation Centers around the world. Click here for all the details.
SPI’s "mini business school" and capacity building program provides essential business training for people, particularly women, living in poor communities. This business school’s curriculum is targeted to people who lack much - if any - formal education. The training provides economically disadvantaged communities with the tools to establish, build and sustain locally-owned and managed businesses. And the program has been a critical element in the creation of numerous successful sustainable businesses that enable communities to build their futures while saving their archaeological sites.
We felt that the Business School could be utilized in other projects and by other organizations that seek to create economic development in marginalized or untrained communities and provide capacity training to people therein. We look forward to working with UNOPS - and others - empowering entrepreneurs and alleviating poverty wherever possible.
Tanzania Kickoff!
We kicked off our first project in Tanzania! Thirty women from the community of Kaole (location of an important archaeological site with ancient coral-built tombs and mosques, including the oldest mosque on the East Africa mainland) participated in a workshop to discuss their needs and dreams, and potential businesses that they could start. They will be starting the mini-business school shortly.
Prosperous Futures Start Here
SPI empowers women and preserves heritage. And we want to do more of that. We cannot do this alone. We need your help to keep building futures and saving pasts. And now to bring the mini-business school all over the world! The more support we receive for this mission, the more effective the results. Please join us in helping impoverished communities and the archaeological sites around which they live. Any donation you make will be greatly appreciated.
