Our New Partnership with Nat Geo
We’re thrilled to announce a new partnership with the National Geographic Society! We will conducting several of our sustainable development and capacity building projects in Peru in association with the GlobalXplorer project (described below). We hope to expand this partnership to other countries, as well as to enlist the help of National Geographic to spread our community "business school" and training program throughout the world. Stay tuned!
GlobalXplorer Launches!
We are excited about the launch of GlobalXplorer, the crowdsourcing platform of TED Prize winner and SPI friend and partner Sarah Parcak. GlobalXplorer is now searching for new and damaged sites by satellite, and we look forward to seeing the results so we can further protect Peru's heritage with our successful paradigm.

We plan to expand to several new countries. In order to scale and maximize our impact, we are planning to implement a franchise model, whereby we identify a social entrepreneur or two in target countries, give them the business school and training program we have developed to adapt for their country, as well as some resources and ongoing advice. It’s not as easy as that sentence makes it sound, but the goal is to create local versions of SPI around the world to build more futures and save more pasts. We will be calling on some of you with expertise in this area to help us with this expansion, so be ready!

Our Executive Director has been a bit insufferable lately (a bit? lately?). All pro NFL wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald declared him the "best archaeologist in the world", and it went viral. Read it here on Page Six of the NY Post. You know what they say, if it's in the Post it must be true.
We congratulate Larry Fitzgerald for winning the NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year Award for his outstanding charitable work with his community. Two Larrys working for communities (one is a much better pass catcher).
